Speed-o'-Sound Sonic is one of the popular villain in the anime and manga series, One Punch Man. His first appearance was during the Paradise Group Arc where he was introduced as the bodyguard of a wealthy businessman named Zeniru. Meanwhile, another villain called Hammerhead has organised a group of bald thugs called the Paradise Group and is intent on taking over Zeniru's estate. Zeniru then dispatches Sonic to take down the Paradise Group including Hammerhead. Sonic then proceeded to brutally decapitate the thugs and was able to subdue Hammerhead.

Unfortunately for Sonic, Hammerhead was unharmed due to his thick skull and he escaped. While he was fleeing, Hammerhead then encountered Saitama, who himself was looking to beat down the Paradise Group in order to clear the mistaken affiliation with them. After a short scuffle, Saitama destroyed Hammerhead's armor and allowed him to go in a moment of pity. Afterwards, Sonic had his famous first battle with Saitama which ended abruptly after Saitama accidentally hit Sonic in the groin.
