Bokuto Koutaro is one of the major characters in the sports anime and manga series, Haikyu. He is an 18-year old student at Fukurodani Academy where he is in his third and final year. Outside the classroom, Koutaro is the captain and Wing Spiker of the school's volleyball team. Immensely talented in volleyball, he is the undisputed ace of the team and is one of the top high school players in Japan. Appearance-wise, Koutaro is easily identifiable due to his spiky white grey hair with black streaks. He has a tall and lanky build and he wears the Fukurodani jersey number 4 during games.

Koutaro made his frist appearance during the Tokyo Expedition Arc where Fukurodani played a match against Karasuno.
