The Deal with him: Sasori of the Red Sand is one disturbed puppet. He lost his parents in the war against Konoha Village when he was a child, and yearned for parental love. Having a caring grandmother didn’t seem to be enough for him, although Grandma Chiyo taught him how to play with puppets, ninja-style.
The first puppets lonely little Sasori built were in the likeliness of his parents, in an attempt to recreate the warmth of being in their arms. However, his puppets broke, and perhaps, with Sasori’s sanity along with it. His experiments with puppets grew more deadly, as he preyed on human to be the cask of his puppets. His proud collection included the 3rd Kazekage of the Sand Village, and various strong ninjas. His obsession with puppetry stopped at nothing and he eventually turned himself into a puppet as well, immortalizing his young teenage appearance.
It was perhaps around that time that he defected from the Sand Village to join the Akatsuki gang. His first partner was Orochimaru, and later Deidara after Orochimaru left the organization.

Wizard Howl's Enchanted Magic Ring (red)
Following Sen to Chihiro (Spirited Away), Howl's Moving Castle is Hayao Miyazaki's latest feature anime with Studio Ghibli, based on the novel by Diana Wynne Jones.
The heroine of the story is a young hatmaker called Sophie, who, after an encounter with the attractive Wizard Howl, was paid a visit by the Witch of the Wastes and her minions. The witch was jealous of Sophie and cast a spell on her to turn her into a bent-backed old woman. In confusion, and hoping to find a cure for the spell, Sophie set out in search of the Wizard Howl.
On her way, she met and helped a hopping scarecrow, whom Sophie named Turniphead. Turniphead led Sophie to Howl's castle, which was a visually grotesque jumble of messy machinery. In the castle, which was suprisingly homey compared to the monstrous exterior, Sophie met the fiesty flames demon, Calcifer, who fuels the energy of the moving castle. She also made friends with Wizard Howl's help, Markl, who has a magical cape that sprouts him a giant moustache. Sophie assumes the postition of the house cleaner, joining this somewhat dysfunctional family.
We learn later on in the story that almost all the characters are under some kind of spell (must be some kind of trend) including the Wizard Howl's, who has the ability to shapeshift into a feathered flying predator. Wizard Howl's was approached by 2 warring countries to join the war, and in cowardice, sends Sophie as his mother to reject the appointment. The plot thickens as Sophie meets the Madame Suliman. Howl and gang then tries to escape from everybody else. That was when the story gets weirdly confusing yet pleasantly entertaining.
The main attraction of the movie is probably the fantastical castle, which opens its main door to anywhere Howl wills it to. The castle has a variety of staircases and endless rooms, secret tunnels leading to elsewhere. A visual feast for Miyazaki fans.

Okita Sougo is the sadistic captain of the Shinsengumi 1st Division. Called the 'Prince from Planet Sadist' by Shinsengumi vice commander Hijitaka Toushiro, Okita's hobbies include mainly plotting Hijitaka's death , after which Okita will be able to become the vice commander. Okita's schemes include cursing Hijitaka while wearing a head gear of burning candles in the dead of the night.
Okita speaks in a deadpan tone, is usually detached, and is mercilessly sarcastic. He is often caught napping nonchalantly with his trademark bright red eye mask with 2 wide open eyes on it. In fact, he is able to nap even while swinging his wooden sword during practice.
Okita's weapon of choice is usually a bazooka. Although Kondo Isao calls Okita the best swordsman in Shinsengumi with the fastest reaction speed; he lost in a fight with Hijitaka Toushiro.
Okita is detached from most people, and only lowers his guard, becoming a happy child when he is with his elder sister, Okita Mitsuba.
Besides Kondo Isao, one of his 1st friends whom he respects deeply, Okita also seems to respect and look up to Sakata Gintoki, whom he chose to introduce to his sister as his good friend. Although Okita states his deep hatred for Hijitaka which spanned since their childhood, they are close comrades and are often seen working together.
Okita Sougo's name is based on the actual historical Shinsengumi 1st Division Captain, Okita Souji.

Echizen Ryoma is the title character in Prince of Tennis. Confident and arrogant, he is easily provoked into a match whether or not he wanted the match in the first place. This left-handed player's style of play is All Rounder and can adapt easily to his opponent's style and usually defeat them.
Ryoma's father is Echizen Nanjiro, a retired professional Tennis player also known as "Samurai Nanjiro". A quirky chap, Nanjiro loves to humiliate his son by beating him in Tennis and making fun of him for losing. As such, Ryoma's personal goal is to defeat his father in Tennis. The hours of play with his father also turns him into a strong Tennis player compared to most of his peers.
Ryoma's favourite phrase is "Mada Mada Dane" which means something along the lines of "Not good enough". He adopted this from his father, using this phrase to provoke his opponents the same way his father uses it to aggravate him. Nanjiro, in turn, caught the phrase from Tennis coach Ryuzaki Sumire.
Ryoma has one of the best records among the Seigaku regulars for being undefeated in matches and one can always count on him to save-the-day-and-beat-the-cocky-crap-out-of-Seigaku's-arrogant-opponents in matches.
