Sakura is the princess of the desert Clow Country, and the childhood friend of Syaoran. One day, some evil forces tried to steal Sakura's inborn power and made her float to the ruins where Syaoran was working at. Sakura was growing a couple of great wings there and Syaoran interrupted the process, causing the feathers of Sakura's wings to flutter out into different dimensions, each feather bringing along a part of Sakura's memory and lifeforce.

And so the story begins, where Syaoran brought Sakura out to the different dimensions to collect back her feathers. Before she lost her memory, Sakura had loved Syaoran dearly. However, as a payment to Yuuko, the Dimension Witch, for the ability to dimension travel, Sakura had to give up her memory of her love for Syaoran forever.

Sakura is a kind-hearted princess who is able to touch the people around her as can be seen by her interaction with the various characters in the different worlds. Her companions include the warrior, Kurogane; the magician Fye D Flowright, and Mokona, a magical creature who gives them the power to dimension travel.
