Shinku, whose name literally means "really red" is the aristocratic 5th doll of the Rozen Maidens, and the 1st doll to appear in the series to the bratty Jun. Her demeaning and almost anal attitude towards everyone around her was really annoying to watch in the beginning, but she will soon grow on you.

Shinku is one of the stronger Rozen Maidens and the favoured doll of Rozen. Most of the other dolls look up to her as an elder sister. Her jealous enemy is the silver haired Suigintou (whose entrance is usually heralded by her evil laughter), a powerful but incomplete Rozen Maiden.

Although Shinku and Jun's 'master-servant' relationship provided acceptable humour fodder in the beginning, their blatantly growing romantic interest in each other soon got really freaky (What CAN a doll and human do with each other??). The audience can be sure that their budding relationship will not end in a romantic consummation but would only give us a glimpse of Jun's future inclination in the bedroom (cough..servant..)
