Kikumaru Eiji is one part of Seigaku's National level doubles pairing known as the "Golden Pair", along with Oishi Shuichiro. His style of play is Acrobatic Play, and is always seen leaping around the Tennis court as if he were performing acrobatics. He is characterized by a white plaster which is eternally plastered on his right cheek for no apparent reason, and his red hair. Eiji punctuates his words with "nya", causing him to resemble a cat, along with his agility and hairstyle.
Eiji is playful and has a close friendship with Oishi Shuichiro, his 'other half'. In fact, their relationship sometimes seem to resemble a dating couple's, especially when they get into petty fights with each other, followed by almost tearful make ups.
For someone so skilled and agile in acrobatics, Eiji has a remarkably low stamina, which is usually targeted and used against him by opponents in matches. Eiji also has the best eyesight in Seigaku, with the ability to follow the slightest Tennis ball movements.
