Personality:
Even though Edward was the Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, he did not dose himself in gold or treasures. To him, the greatest treasure he sought after was a family. (That’s sweet, but why did he become a pirate in the first place?) Such a big man as himself, he was a happy-go-lucky man in reality. He lived on high moral values and never forgave anyone who took those values as a joke.

Anybody who takes a first peek at Luffy would call him a little imp. Whitebeard was no exception, until he heard great stories of Luffy and saw his amazing abilities as a pirate with a bounty of 400,000,000 belly.
