Sachiel Biography (Neon Genesis Evangelion)

Background:

The third Angel in Adam’s lineage, Sachiel was the first Angel to attack Tokyo 3 after its momentary peace at the end of Second Impact.

Its appearance is a humongous humanoid creature with bony shoulders and torso, bird-like head and gill-like formations on its legs. It had stretchable three-fingered hands, which can shoot out spikes from its palm. It can also emit energy blast for long-ranged attacks.

Sachiel was also the first Angel to fight the Evangelion Unit 01, piloted by Shinji Ikari. Since the pilot of Unit 01 is a first-timer, Sachiel easily defeated Eva by driving its palm spike in its right eye. Too bad though, that attack triggered the berserker inside its pilot and Unit 01.

Sachiel tried to placate Eva with A.T field, which was easily torn down by the latter. Before Unit 01 completely break Sachiel life core located in its chest, it enveloped Eva with its flexible body and self-destruct.

No remains of Sachiel’s body were recovered for NERV’s investigation.
