Nao Zhang from Mai Otome lost most of her venom which her parallel character was full of in Mai HiMe. Nao is the upper classman of Nina Wong, and later Arika Yumemiya. Nao came from Artai, and like Nina, was sponsored by Sergey Wong. Unlike Nina, she didn't develop an insane crush on Sergey. Instead, she has a goal to marry a rich guy so she can laze around for the rest of her life instead of becoming a Meister.

Nao is 4th in Garderobe's Pearl class after Shiho Huit, her rival. After Akane Soir eloped with Kazuya Krau-xeku, Nao was promoted to 3rd and included in the Trias much to her dismay as it took up slacking time. Nao's other hobby besides slacking is to play a secret superhero. She uses the alias of Juliet when she roams the streets at night with a bunch of men who wear pink to do crime control.

For someone who prefers not to shine out, Nao sure failed in that and was later further promoted to be the Fourth Pillar along with Shizuru Viola and Kruga Natsuki as the other pillars. Her new robe is the Wired Spinel which gives her a costume with spidery patterns all over it to reminisce her spider-like Child in Mai HiMe.
