Following her tragic parting with Kazuya in Mai HiMe, Akane is back in Mai Otome for redemption. Akane remains demure and soft spoken, but is now the top student of Garderobe's Pearl class. In addition she also heads the Trias and carries on her love relationship with Kazuya, now a prince and heir of Cardair.

Being a top student, Akane Soir was appointed to be the Meister otome of the King of Florence; a lusty looking old man if you ask me. Just as she was about be accepted into his servitude though, Kazuya appeared and whisked her to elope away to a seemingly fairy tale-like true love ending. Her choice of choosing love over being a virgin Otome inspired many young otome students like Arika Yumemiya and Nina Wong, who were both in love with Sergey Wong.

Things didn't turn out so well after that though, as their world seemed to oppose Akane and Kazuya from sleeping together. The poor lovebirds were finally caught in a love motel as they were about to... you know... and Kazuya was captured back to be Cardair's Emperor while Akane was forced by Maya (one of the random new Otomes the animation studio deemed fit to introduce in the final episode) to become Kazuya's Otome.

The deprivation of sex did some drastic changes to Kazuya and Akane's personalities. Kazuya appeared to be a total wreck in a shot of him in the last episode. Akane, who now uses the Malachite of Pure Love GEM dons a robe that gave her a pair of adorable cat-like ears and tails, making her look very much like a horny cat. She didn't seem to be her soft-spoken self either, and openly stated that she will not give up her goal to sleep with Kazuya.

Weird. What's wrong with them anyway. I say give them a break man. Anybody can be Kazuya's Meister. Why can't they just let them sleep together and get it over and done with...
