Sanada Yukariko is the nun in the Fuuka Academy's campus church and has a characteristic beauty mole on her right cheekbone. She is religious and seemingly kind and wholesome. But behind the 'good God's servant' facade, Yukariko who grew up in a religious convent secretly desires love and the other fruits forbidden to her status as a nun.
When Yukariko first discovered her HiMe powers, she was traumatized, believing she was bedecked with the Devil's power. The art teacher, Wataru, manipulated Yukariko's confusion, made her trust him, and later raped her after he made her unconscious by spiking her drink. He then forced Yukariko to obey his commands to start the HiMe war. Yukariko thus framed Yuuki Nao for attacking her and the HiMe war started when Kuga Natsuki accidentally blinded Nao's left eye in the fight.
Although Yukariko seemed to be powerless tool under Wataru's demands as the one who defiled her, she was actually a willing victim as she had fallen in love with Wataru, who gave her a taste of the forbidden fruit of sinning against God. She finally chose to die with Wataru after she almost killed Tokiha Mai who was saved by Yuuichi Tate.
