Background:

Hone Onna or Bone Woman is the third doll and assistant of Enma Ai in delivering retribution and sending people in hell. She is a beautiful woman who used to be a geisha, which explains her penchant for wearing kimono.

Wanting to have a family of her own, she tried to run away with her client and her unborn baby. Unfortunately, the mamasan found out about it and had them killed. Their dead bodies were placed in a boat to drift aimlessly in a river.

Her life as a ghost is a never-ending search for revenge on men. Her first meeting with Enma is when she tried to scare her, to no avail, of course. Enma offers her a more restful way of giving out punishment, if she’ll join them. Upon saying yes, Enma gives her a signing bonus of instant plastic surgery. Her horrifying bony appearance is once again restored into their youthful beauty.

Among the assistant, Enma rarely sends her out as a vengeance doll. Hone Onna mostly disguised herself to gain information about their clients, a job where she can put all her geisha knowledge into good use. Even though she seeks revenge on her death, she is very sensitive and emotional on how people deal with each other harshly.
