Rey Za Burrel is one of the ZAFT pilots on the warship Minerva and is on very close terms with Shinn Asuka. has the same voice actor as Rau Le Creuset (Kluuze) from Gundam Seed and currently pilots the ZGMF-X666S Legend Gundam which bears an uncanny resemblance to Creuset's ZGMF-X13A Providence Gundam. So there seems to be a mysterious connection between him and Rau Le Creuset.

Rey always looks like he has a bad hair day, his blonde locks hiding his issues and secrets. He seems to have an unnaturally close relationship with Gilbert Dullindal, the scheming chairman of PLANT (he calls the chaiman by a fond pet name: Gil). He is unremarkable as a pilot, and his main function on the Minerva is to snitch on Athrun Zala to Dullindal.

The Legend Gundam, which was originally bestowed toAthrun, was transferred to Rey after he successfully defiled Athrun to Dullindal. Rey was also promoted to be a Faith member, which made him really cocky and he starts to order the captain of Minerva and everybody else around. He doesn't do much during battle either. Even when he pilots the supposedly powerful Legend Gundam, he just hung around to shout Shinn's name.
