Mayu Asuka is the owner of THE pink cellphone which Shinn Asuka so often clutches close to his heart in his fits of angsty tears.
During the evacuation of the war at ORB in Gundam Seed, the Asuka family were one of the escapees running for the ORB escape ship. On the way, Mayu Asuka dropped her precious pink cellphone down a slope and insisted on getting it back. While Shinn was retrieving the cellphone, Mayu and their parents who were waiting at the top of the slope got blasted by one of ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam's random firing, leaving Shinn a hateful orphan.
Although Mayu Asuka died within the first 5 minutes of episode 1 of Gundam Seed Destiny, she has appeared frequently in Shinn's tear-eyed flashbacks. We often see Mayu hiding and running around a tree trunk, and hear her voice in the cellphone's voice mail recording. Because of Mayu's pink cellphone, Shinn joined ZAFT and has been unable to tear away from his past to be a wholesome, saintly and god-like soldier like Kira Yamato.
It's all Mayu's fault.

She's so cute! reminds me of my two little sisters who live in Alberta they are twins Alice and Emma. And they are both 12 cute little buggers Mayu reminds me of them!.

Nandayo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omaie keso ne!! Baka!! baka!! it's not mayu's fault!! it's kira yamato's fault. he who was claim to be the ulimate coordinator should able to protect the onogoro from being terrotise!! when orga shot his laser at kira, kira should not try to move to the area were near to the civilans!! keso Kira!!! OMAIEEEE!!!!!!!!
