Background:
Marina Ismail is a naïve Princess of Azadistan, who is faced with both political and economic crisis of her country. She’s a passionate believer of peace being gained without violence and doesn’t approve of Celestial Being’s vision of using armed intervention to stop war.
Her first fateful meeting with Setsuna is when she intervened and saves him from British police officers. She doesn’t believe Setsuna when the kid confessed that he is a Gundam Meister. It took a successful hostage rescue conducted by Celestial Beings for her to actually believe.
Marina’s naivety somehow calls Setsuna’s long buried innocence. Setsuna feels drawn towards her idealism though it contrast his own. This fragile bond between them influences Setsuna to the point that Marina even appears in his dreams, telling him to stop fighting.
She is the recipient of Setsuna’s last letter when he was believed to be dead.
