The guy with anger management issue and a temper that’s always on the boiling point. Well, who wouldn’t be if you are living your life in Sohma Kyo’s shoes?

Being part of the cursed Sohma family, Kyo turns into an orange cat whenever he is hugged by the opposite gender. He is viewed as salvation of the family, not because he can lift the curse but because he is the most cursed among them all. Aside from turning into a cat, whenever he took off his Juzu Beads, he transforms into a huge stinky cat beast. So being double cursed makes him inferior to other family members. Therefore, making them feel good about themselves for not having the same fate as Kyo. Such a twisted logic, eh?

So it’s really understandable for the poor cat to be cranky. For Kyo, the best weapon against being looked down with pity is to stomp off and answer back rudely.

Underneath his fur, though, is one love-deprived boy. When his mother died, his father abandoned him believing that he killed his own mother. So when, Tohru Honda shows generosity and affection towards him, the grouchy guy honestly doesn’t know how to respond to it. Kyo might be impulsive and aggressive but he later on learns to value love and friendship.
