Background:

Archer is, at first, looks brusque and cynical. That impression is not really far from the truth. He is incorrectly summoned by Rin Tohsaka which led to his memory loss. He is quite rebellious and forms a dislike to Emiya Shirou and his ideals.

He keeps a lot of skeleton in his closet and one of them is that he is actually Shirou’s older self. His true purpose in joining the Holy Grail war is to kill his younger self.

His life as a hero has opened his eyes to the harsh realities of the world. He wanted to save people from dying but in order to do so means sacrifing other people. He somehow felt betrayed by his own ideals and therefore becomes pessimistic.

He is very good on strategic fighting and infuses mana in his eyes for accurate aiming for even as far as 4km distance.
