Gin Ichimaru, the grinning captain of the 3rd Division of the Death Gods is as elusive as his eyes, which we saw once. They were red.
His intentions regarding the deal with Kuchiki Rukia's execution and the death of Captain Aizen of the 5th Division. Ichimaru is the main suspect for Aizen's death. We don't even know if he's a bad guy but since he has that very unsettling grin and the very weird slanted eyes, it is assumed that he is.
We have seen him fight once so far in the anime, against the genius prodigy captain of the 10th Division, Hitsugaya Toushiro.

It was coloured red in the anime because the manga chapter wasn't released yet, so they just coloured his eyes were red...

Feh-in the manga the eyes are blue, but in the anime theyre red-not that Gin opens his often enough for us all to check that, still, he has to be one of the coolest captains around!
